A message from writer, Vivienne Baillie...
"This project has been a long long time in the making. I told Pat about it months before he died. He was excited although we both knew he probably would not be with us to see it happen.
The book is a selection of Pat's poems describing life on the streets of Dublin - street life Pat witnessed first hand over an astonishing period of 20 years. I believe it is a unique piece of work; something no other artist has ever done. Included in the book are surprising colour photos Pat took himself (with a disposable camera) of what was happening on the streets as he sold his books.
I have selected about 300 'street poems' (from an initial 1000). Over the past few months, a network of Pat’s friends (and friends of theirs) have very generously offered their time and skills to produce a unique object: an original cover illustration, a wonderful cover design, then you have to digitise Pat’s photos, typeset the manuscript and proofread it.
Now, we need your help to print 2000 copies of this special book.
Please take the time to look at this kickstarter crowdfunding page which describes the project in full - especially the video in which the nature of the project is explained:
You can help by buying one or more copies of the book, and/or by pledging for signed copies of photos taken by photographers Jim Leonard or Seamus Murphy, or signed prints of the cover illustration by artist David Rooney. You can also be a top funder (see rewards in campaign).
We have [until the 14th of August] to find the funds we need. If the campaign succeeds, we will be able to print the book this Autumn, and the book (and prints and other rewards) will be sent to pledgers before the end of the year. If we do not reach the goal, nothing happens as Kickstarter works on an « all or nothing » basis.
It would be great if you could help. Please share too. I would love this to happen for PAT.
Vivienne

Bank fonts on Typetype are excellent if you want a formal, professional look. I tried bank fonts on a finance-related presentation, and it immediately gave it a clean, trustworthy appearance. The letters are crisp and easy to read, which is essential for official documents or websites. I especially liked how the preview tool lets you test your own text to see how it feels in context before committing to a design.
